Music-lover and poster collector Simon Mason founded LDN Calling
in 2007 to give clients high quality telemarketing services and high-value
appointment scheduling. LDN Calling graphic identity development started
with a set of 42 black and white pictures: telephonic/communications/computer
imagery related to LDN Calling activities. The pictures were
intentionally lo-fi. All of them are taken with a mobile phone camera.
That was our programme. They are ugly, abstract, blurry and dirty. We
created a A5 Brand Album. A different picture was used for every element
of the stationary. The website ldncalling.co.uk
features flash animation with the 42 images and the possibility to see
the whole set. The long dash in the logo represents the tone that you
hear when you pick up the phone to make a call.
For the promotional materials (A2 poster and CD) we used fragments of
London Calling lyrics by the clash. A CD Compilation was the LDN Calling
Christmas present featuring London and technology related tracks mixed
by Paul and Dan. From Daft Punk´s 'Technologic' to Burial´s
'Night bus'.
